Nikah, janaza or a meeting with the imam: send your request here and we will get back to you to set a date.
Nikah (marriage)
The imam can perform your nikah at the mosque.
- Both spouses, the bride's wali and two Muslim witnesses attend.
- Agree on the mahr beforehand.
- Tell us whether your civil marriage is done or planned: we will explain what is possible in Québec.
- Ask at least three weeks ahead when you can.
Janaza (funeral prayer)
We stand by the family for the janaza prayer and guide you through the steps with the funeral home.
- Call us right away, day or night: 514-360-3133.
- The janaza prayer is usually held after one of the daily prayers.
- Choose a funeral home; we coordinate the washing (ghusl) and the burial with them.
Meet the imam
For advice, family matters, embracing Islam, a certificate or any question about the religion.
- In person at the mosque, by phone or by video.
- Everything you share stays confidential.
- Sisters may come with a family member or ask for another sister to be present.
